The Chaddesden Church War Memorial Hall

The Chaddesden Church War Memorial Hall was built following WW1. The Derby Daily Telegraph of 3rd April 1923 reports that the Duke of Devonshire formally opened the Hall by unveiling the War Memorial. This memorial, to the men from the church and the parish, was placed on the wall in a prominent position. The Bishop of Derby, accompanied by the Vicar, dedicated the memorial. The men mentioned on this memorial are:

Harry Coulson

Frank Cooke

John William Davidson*

William Downing*

Albert John Fell*

Arthur Fletcher*

Walter Hancock

John Henson Hunt

George Mills*

John Oldershaw*

Reggie Parker

Arthur Peach

Charles Poole

Edwin Whiting*

Robert Wilmot*

The names are not exactly the same as those on the memorial on Chaddesden Lane. Only those with an * appear on both memorials. What could be the reason for this
